Sue, Canela, Kelly & Callie welcome you to Far Reaches Farm
We are open most weekends during the growing season and have a retail area for both sun and shade plants. We are plant obsessed with around 5000 taxa in the collection, which is augmented by our own seed collecting expeditions and exchanges with botanic gardens and others similarly possessed around the world. Our display gardens are fun to wander through and we guarantee you will see a plant or two you have never seen before. We are always finding plants here that we have never seen before and didn't know we had, so we feel pretty safe with that guarantee. We also do limited wholesaling to nurseries and landscapers, and inquiries from the trade are welcome but it is far from our main focus.
We have an established 130' sunny display border as well as an extensive shade garden under lath pretty well stuffed with treasures. Our shade garden has been described as "going to church" and really is a glory in the spring. An additional sunny garden is being developed and the damp garden is well underway with its Sarracenia bog and green roof gazebo. We have quite a few garden clubs and groups tour the nursery and gardens, and all seem to enjoy themselves thoroughly.
Port Townsend is one heck of a destination for a weekend. Fabulous restaurants, great lodging, art, music, scenery and intriguing shops. William James Bookstore is in a league of its own for second-hand books. Best burger and house salad in town is tied with Sirens Pub and Owl Sprit Cafe. The Farmer's Market in Uptown on Saturday morning 9-2 and Wednesday from 3-6:30 is a going concern. If you want a getaway, come to PT and visit the nursery. Remember the town motto: "We're all here because we're not all there."
Thanks for visiting our web site and we hope to see you at the nursery sometime.
