Description

Here is one truly from the far reaches.  From St. Paul Island in the Pribiloff's comes this diminutive bone-hardy Lilliputian member of the genus.  Perfect for the rock gardener in wicked cold climates, this has it all and in scale - nice foliage with comparatively large open blueish flowers that are sweetly scented.  Not too dry.  Easy. Some authorities regard this as simply the species boreale but with reservations while USDA retains the subspecific status with confidence.  Tolerant of foot and flipper traffic from seals, auklets and puffins.
