Description
A good dark version of this widespread Allium from our collection in southern Sichuan in October of 2012. We had originally described this as being light pink based on some pale October flowers lingering in the cold mists of Sichuan. There were seed heads from earlier flowers and we assumed that these would be the same insipid pink as what was before us but fortunately these turned out different in a very positive way. The individual florets are darker and spaced farther apart than our CGG collection two years earlier and both have their own merits. A very easy plant in the garden getting up to 20" tall and having the added bonus of being edible which might be useful down the line if the Allium hits the fan so to speak..
