Description

Mousetail Plant. So named because the brown hooded flowers with their long brown tails look like mice scurrying for shelter beneath the foliage. Related to Jack in the Pulpits, this Asian species is very easy in the shade garden and delights old and young alike.  We have a customer in Wisconsin who let us know he has been growing this on the cusp of zone 4 and 5 where this has handily survived -23F with snow cover and the negative teens without snow cover. Thanks Matt! Always great to hear from gardeners in other climates how are plants are faring - we would not have thought this plant to be so cold hardy.  Never too old to learn!
