Awesome tree in the Hammamelidaceae or Witch Hazel family from southern China and north Vietnam which is where this Josh McCullough collection hails from.  We saw this growing in the Dayaoshan in China and were struck dumb by the broadly vase-shaped 50' tree.  Large evergreen leaves unfurl with bronze tones from large flattened stipules.  Small filamentous reddish flowers which we have yet to see.  Wish this was hardier and a good plant for zone 9 and hoping for warmer parts of zone 8 but am not optimistic.  Cutting grown.
