Description
This is a fine little evergreen shrub to perhaps 20" from a Heronswood 1998 collection in South America. Wiry red stems bristling with narrow, sharply pointed leaves are a good match for the plentiful small white bells in mid to late spring. Attractive fruit can follow although this might be enhanced by another pollinator. We have a couple other species of a single clone and they seem to be not shy about fruiting so we are straddling the fence a bit. Rhododendron culture and better not in hot sun and even light shade is fine.
