This is going to become a favorite of ours once we give it the garden space it so well deserves.  A tuberous species from Ethiopia, this has proven hardy for Northwest gardens and could put on the same gardening plane as Impatiens tinctoria.  This will be a bit shorter than that species and become bushier but the main difference are the flowers of a soft salmon pink.  A few self-sown seedlings if you are lucky - this is not a garden nightmare!  A plant for cool summer areas, this can likely take nearly full sun in our cool coastal gardens and bright to dappled shade inland.  Being tuberous, this is going to want drainage for the winter wet and a mulch to keep frost from the crown.  Our stock plants are from seed from that expert of African flora, John Grimshaw.
