Our collection from 1997 of this little non-aggressive groundcover Persicaria we previously offered as P. vaccinifolia.  Thin tapers of red flowers and good flame colored foliage in fall.  We found this growing on top of a massive mossy boulder near a small stream as it flowed from a narrow canyon in the cliffs of the Cangshan at 10,000'.  It had interesting companions including a verticillate Polygonatum, Rhododendron edgeworthii and Hypericum uralum among others and the personal record of most taxa collected from a single rock still stands.  We have also seen this species looking fabulous at over 12000' in eastern Bhutan.  Thanks to Hans and Lynn Sauter for returning a bit of this to us after we had lost our plant.
