Fun new selection of Persicaria with softly golden foliage which is a great backdrop for the 18"-24" flower stems bearing spikes of flowers the same color as the Pope's new ruby slippers. Easy and very hardy and thriving in a good moisture retentive soil.
Our collection from 1997 of this little non-aggressive groundcover Persicaria we previously offered as P. vaccinifolia. Thin tapers of red flowers and good flame colored foliage in fall. We found this growing on top of a massive mossy boulder near a small stream as it flowed from a narrow canyon in the cliffs of the Cangshan at 10,000'.
A refined Persicaria from Japan which although small in stature and demure in nature, continues each year to elevate itself in our estimation. A garden needs some artful subtlety and this quiet little stalwart bring just quality. Low gray green leaves on reddish stems with white flowers in early spring simply charms.*newly potted divisions*
