From a 2012 collection in China by Goteborg Botanic Garden's three Henrik's including Henrik Zetterlund and his sense of humor is all over the expedition acronym. This is Polemonium chinense var. chinense based on the glabrous stems. Violet flowers, rarely white in late spring and early summer. We keep waiting for a white one.

Yellow Jacob's Ladder. A nice unexpected departure from the usual blue flowers of Polemonium as these are yellow with lacquered tomato. This little flowering powerhouse hails from the Southwest and northern Mexico and can put all it has to give into the many flowers so save seed and you can let it self-sow.

From our seed collection from the alpine rock scree of our neighboring Olympic Mts of this exquisite Jacob's Ladder.   Compact caespitose plants with soft pinnate leaves and copious blue flowers that are just perfectly this side of too much.  This one plant made the long steep hike worthwhile!  Rock or crevice gardens.
