Description

Perennial Nasturtium.  A hard to find day length neutral selection of this tuberous and perennial species which puts on a fantastic show in July to September.  Typical T.  tuberosum and its varieties bloom in October - November here which is just in time to get frosted but not this one.  We can't tell you how many times we have acquired this clone only to find out that it was not the real thing and how delighted we were to see this in full flower one summer covering part of a wall on Bob and Annette Barca's potting shed on nearby Whidbey Island.  Delighted not only to see the true 'Ken Aslet' but also in knowing that Bob and Annette are the very souls of generosity and true to form, early the following spring we were gifted with some tubers.  The Royal Horticultural Society regards this as a selection of the variety lineamaculatum and granted this the Ward of Garden Merit.   Ken Aslet was one of England's great gardeners and was the Superintendent of the Rock Garden and Alpine House at Wisley.
